Nutrient dense living is a bit more than just eating nutrient dense foods.
It's about developing an awareness that changes the way you look at food and the way that you consume these foods.
Nutrient dense living is basically a trifecta of important choices that will culminate into a powerful lifestyle for you and your family.
1. Consuming nutrient dense foods and learning what qualities to look for in these foods.
2. Learning how to properly prepare nutrient dense foods to get the most health benefits.
3. Becoming involved with growing or raising some of these nutrient dense foods yourself.
Nutrient dense food is getting more expensive by the day and some of these foods are becoming very hard to find!
One solution........................
Raising your own chickens provides you with plenty of nutrient dense eggs and meat! I absolutely love raising chickens for eggs.
I have had a pretty good amount of experience with many different breeds of chickens at numerous farms. I think one of the biggest obstacles for people is, "what do chickens eat?".
Once you understand how to properly feed and raise chickens, it's really enjoyable. I'll teach you everything I know.
There is nothing better than having access to eggs from pastured chickens, they are truly the best eggs to consume!
How about this solution............
Create your own organic garden, so that you can have access to nutrient dense vegetables, herbs, and fruits!
Me and the boyfriend created a good sized no-dig market garden at a farm we lived at for about a couple of years.
We build about 26 beds that were mainly 30 feet long. That's a lot of beds to keep planted at all times!
It took an incredible amount of work and time to build an organic market garden, but I sure did learn a lot about what to do and what not to do.
One of the most important lessons that I learned is - listen carefully!
You need good quality compost to create nutrient dense soil in order to grow nutrient dense foods.
Otherwise, you will always be in the weeds so to speak. You'll also have more pest and weed pressure because of having deficient soil.
What helped was my boyfriend has a pretty good amount of knowledge and experience with gardening.
However, it was still overwhelming because we couldn't produce enough compost for the garden.
Growing food can be a challenge, but it's totally worth it once you know how deficient food is at the grocery stores.
The fun part was that we got to plant so many new and exciting varieties of plants that I never even knew existed.
These were some of the most beautiful carrots that we grew during the fall of 2022 and I believe we grew the flashy trout back lettuce during the winter of the previous year.
Don't worry, I will share what I've learned in the past few years about organic gardening. Especially, about how to make compost.
This solution is my favorite............
Having nutrient dense raw dairy on hand, so that you can make nutrient dense homemade ice cream!
It would be ideal, if you could have your very own dairy cow to have fresh milk available all the time - but that is just a dream for now and probably not that practical for most people.
Finding a reputable source of raw milk is the very first thing that I do when moving or considering about moving to a new location.
I consider raw dairy as one of the most important nutrient dense foods on the planet!
Raw milk is a big staple in our household and sometimes I think I love it too much.
These days, I'm making more of an effort to consume easy to digest protein because it helps to build my strength.
Sure it's easy to say, "just eat this and totally eliminate that and everything will be just fine."
Unfortunately,
real life does not work that way! You must have a deeper understanding
of how to provide the best nutrition for your body.
It's a little bit of a study when you look into nutrient dense foods and nutrient dense living will take a little time to master, but it's so Worth it!!
Homesteading, planting a garden, raising chickens, and growing healthy soil turn you on!
You also dream of owning your own dairy cow or goat, so that you can have all of the raw dairy foods you want.
Your tired of searching high and low for raw nutrient dense dairy products.
You want to learn how to make your own butter, cream, and other nutrient dense dairy products. Stay tuned!
Your tired of the adrenaline rush from consuming too much salt and cooked foods. Especially, since its going to age you!
You desire a more relaxing and healthier way to consume nutrient dense foods.
You are interested in consuming raw foods or adding more raw foods into your diet.
You have already done some research on this subject and now your just looking for more inspiration as well as culinary ideas.
Do you have a story that lead you to searching for better health and nutrient dense living?
My journey began when I was about 18 years old and still continues to this day now that I'm 63. Although, I know a lot more than I did then.
My health challenges started during my early teenage years.
I'm pretty convinced that it was all the junk food that I ate as a child that resulted in lots of mercury fillings being put into my teeth.
However, cutting down on junk food and removing those toxic filling was only part of my journey back to health.
When I got pregnant and had my daughter I knew that I would have to figure out the whole nutrition thing or it was going to be a nightmare.
And I experimented with many different types of diets to learn the truth.
However, the pinnacle of my journey was when I decided to become a CNA or certified nurses aid for a few years.
What I saw during those few years not only disturbed me, but made me even more determined to learn the "real" truth about nutrition.
I decided that I never wanted to end up sick and trapped like what I witnessed which is what pushed me into discovering what the most nutrient dense foods are for me and my daughter.
Look for quality over quantity when it comes to choosing your foods. It's best to contact the company and ask questions about what the animals were fed.
For example: buying meat that comes from cows grazing on pastures all day instead of factory farmed cows that eat toxic feed.
You have to look beyond, "a great sales price" or "buying in bulk" these days.
What's the point of eating a lot of meat or anything else that wasn't raised or grown correctly?
Nutrient dense foods will supply the nutrients that your body craves and needs without adding unnecessary toxins that your body will have to get rid of by the way.
Intermittent fasting anyone?
Many people are into fasting these days, to give their bodies a break.
Probably because their exposed to toxins which includes cooked food toxins. A lack of enzymes could be another reason.
It's usually because the quality of food you are consuming isn't supplying the necessary nutrients for your body or it could be that your not properly digesting your food - or both.
Did you know there is a big difference between feeding the cells of your body and eating till you feel full?
Sometimes your cravings will tell you what your body is lacking. Maybe you are in need of the vitamins and enzymes that eating raw foods can provide.
I'll do my best to teach you what I know, so that you can be more in charge of your cravings and experience nutrient dense living!
